A life like this
You don’t want
to miss a single second
Happy moments beckon
By choosing to be free and present
You can really lessen
“Sleeping ” through the good times
you could otherwise miss
A kind word or gesture,
Shared memories,
a first kiss
It could be a wedding,
a play not attended
a heart not mended
As you were far too hungover
To make the effort to go over
To a family event
Or you said things not meant
Does that make sense?
Why wait?!
Life won’t just fall in our lap
We can’t access it’s joy
by opening a cap
On a bottle or two
It’s up to you
Who’s in control
of the life your living?
Are you giving
all that you could be giving?
If alcohol is the real boss
That could be your loss
Why not decide
No longer to hide
Behind the “wine” glasses
you’re wearing
They’re too foggy!
And see more of the life
you could be living
As your best self,
awake,
alert
And not groggy 🙂🌞🌻⏰
