Mothering my Wild Inner Child – Taming Cravings When you Stop Drinking

Mothering my Inner Child- Silencing Alcoho Cravings when you Stop Drinking

I’m stronger than my cravings
They’re misinformed
Having been given incorrect information
It’s not my fault
I did my best in the situation

I know better now
But my cravings drive me mad at times
Wanting that wine

Like a little girl
Charging around my house at night
She’s cold and wants to play with matches to get warm
She’s prepared to argue
And fight
She wants to feel better
And I’m under pressure to let her

I could do that
But I know in fact
A better way exists rather than let her build a fire
I could put the heating on

The warmth of sobriety
Is there for us both you see
And I can always turn that heat up higher
With no chance we’d set the house on fire

The little girl doesn’t care about this
As she’s not aware this option exists
It’s up to me to teach her this ❤

My thoughts on alcohol cravings

If you want something badly that’s not healthy
That’s not healthy

If you always want to zone out at night
There’s something wrong with that picture right?

If you feel cravings fighting to get the better of you
Don’t you need to fight just as much too?

That sounds exhausting but….

What about fighting smarter not harder?

Want to know more?
Get curious with Boom and open its knowledge door

We’ve great ideas for sober treats and we’ve resources galore
(Yep you’re allowed to treat yourself, in fact rewards are a must! Especially ice cream & cupcakes 🍦🧁)

What if to rethink your drinking
It just helps to know more?

Learning more about the alcohol science
Could help you conquer any alcohol reliance

Even if you just want a break from the booze
To learn more about it
You can’t really lose

You can read inspiring stories here
And maybe get something from those

Above all though

Don’t let alcohol steal your future
From under your nose
