The Cost of Mommy’s Wine Time and How I Broke Free
Read more: The Cost of Mommy’s Wine Time and How I Broke FreeWhen my son was a baby, my drinking would have been considered part of what is now (the very normal and encouraged) “Mommy’s wine time” culture. I’d put him down for bed in the early evening – after a very long day of all things baby! – I’d flip on the baby monitor, head to…

The messaging about alcohol, excersize, weight loss and health has been confusing at best over the past 20 years. I’ve read that a glass of red wine is worth an hour at the gym and many other fantastic statements in articles online. When I…

Your Grief Honors Love
Read more: Your Grief Honors LoveMany people believe that grief should pass or dissolve with time. Deep grieving may remain in stops and starts. Grief may come like a tidal wave when the person is seemingly okay. They may fall into a puddle on an anniversary or holiday or in the middle of a grocery store. All experiences with grief…

Sobriety is my Path from Fear to Authenticity
Read more: Sobriety is my Path from Fear to AuthenticityToday it’s over 11 months since I had a drop of alcohol. I now associate drinking with fear. Fear of alcohol. It’s not fear about what’s going into me when I drink, it’s fear about what won’t come out. When I drink my truth does not come out. It stays inside and causes inconsistencies in…

“It was a random day of internet searching that brought me to Boozemusings Blog and to Boom Community, and my life has been changed by it. I needed some kind of “epiphany” for a mind change, and I have learned things about alcohol and its physical effects that have given me that kind of enlightenment. I check in several times a day and it is like meeting with my family. The resources here are incredible, and inexhaustible. I have quit lit books, etc. Will check out some of the other resources in others’ responses, but for me, Boom has been the answer. I feel it has to do with the tireless work of Boom’s creators. Thank you, Boom!!!!!!!”
