When did my off-switch fail-safe break?
What’s wrong with this?
It would never usually miss
Until it did
I was fine for a time
I knew when to stop
Now all of a sudden
I want to drink…..
It’s like stress and anxiety have overridden common sense
And for all the hurt I want wine recompense
What’s going on?
Why aren’t I happy with a glass or two
It used to be enough for me
So now what should I do?
Go completely sober
Or moderate with a few?
Well I’ve read the science now
I think drinking’s a mugs game
Rinse and repeat,
It’s always the same
Once you cross the line to needing it
With each drink you’re feeding it
Soon an addiction has appeared
One you might’ve feared
It wasn’t there before
Or was it?
I’m not sure
One thing is for certain
It’s not sleeping anymore
But neither am I !
I’m becoming more self aware
And that can save my life
Once you invite the danger in
You have a battle you need to win
How do you stop when you want to drink a lot?
How do you go Sober?
