To the little girl who was scared
To the little girl who was violated
Whose safe space was not her bed
Whose innocence was annihilated.
To the little girl who whispered
To the little girl with no voice
Whose trust was shattered young
Who felt she had no choice.
To the teenager who was angry
To the teenager who was broken
Whose anger she relieved upon herself
Whose secrets remained unspoken
To the teenager who began to drink
To the teenager with no self control
Who thought she could purge her demons
With drugs and alcohol.
To the young woman who was empty
To the young woman lost in her head
Whose pain and sorrow dictated life
Who decided she was better off dead
To the young woman who decided to live
To the young woman who decided to try
Who decided that she was going to be free
From alcohol and its tirade of lies.
