My Sober Journey in Images

They say that growth is painful and it’s true
It does hurt to open your mind to change and to growth
It’s hard work and requires daily discipline and courage to expose yourself
But if I had a choice of ten years of life in the dull, dark place I was five years ago
or one day as I am now
I would take that one day in a second
Life is meant to be LIVED
I’ve done an awful lot of talking these past almost four sober years but the main point is quite simply this-
I have control over the thing that was draining away my precious minutes , hours, days, years
I will never give away that control again. because the life that was beginning to lose value has become very precious to me.
Today I will not drink.

Fight for Who You Are !
We have all been sold addictive behaviors and attitudes since childhood. and we’ve been sold the idea that there is only one “right” way to get sober.
Fight back for yourself.
Who are you?
Ultimately that is what matters above all else.
If you are drinking too much too often and want to take a breakโฆcome join us

Care to Rethink the Drink?
Today I am grateful for my brain, for the clarity and flexibility and resilience of my almost five-year sober brain.
If you are a heavy drinker who gets sober and stays sober in a conscious, active way, your thinking evolves from that foggy, anxiety-ridden slog of fighting hangovers, to a vibrant, increasingly focused, positive energy flow. You develop new grey matter from all of the problem solving needed to stay sober.
Your brain literally grows.
I love the way I think now. I love the daily evolution of discovering me. Marc Lewis explains it in his book Biology of Desire. I am living it and invite you to join me.
But it takes an open mind and the courage to reach for your truth.
And it takes work.
You need to commit to talking about what youโre feeling and thinking, and you need to trust. For someone who has been drinking away their feelings and thoughts for however many years that trust is a difficult hurdle, but you are safe here.
