2 years sober and what I know
Read more: 2 years sober and what I knowTwo Years Sober! It has been interesting and at times very challenging. My sobriety led to the end of my relationship with an abusive partner. It led to moving back to my hometown, finding a job, then relocating again and holding down a full-time job that required extensive travel. All stressful stuff when you’re learning…

What’s in a Name
Read more: What’s in a NameAlcohol. Booze. Liquor. Words we use to describe our demon and name the enemy. Convenient nouns. While alcohol does alter certain chemical states in our bodies that create and enhance its addictive nature, it is merely the courier or manufacturer of our desires. I don’t think we truly seek the pleasure of the taste or…

I am Curious

Musings from Five Years Alcohol-Free
Read more: Musings from Five Years Alcohol-FreeI can remember being in awe of people who had gone for a long time alcohol-free. I never thought I’d do it.In fact, to be truthful I didn’t think I COULD do it. I’d tried to reduce, moderate, change the drink in my glass, go a month without and start again. When I drank I…

She stopped drinking, walked away from an abusive relationship, packed her dog in her car and set off across America in search of a new and more fulfilling life. She has had her ups and downs, but in…

Are You Looking for Sober Inspiration?
Read more: Are You Looking for Sober Inspiration? The sunrise was beautiful this morning. The air was crisp and fresh. In the moment that I was walking, in the hour, on this day, I realized again that the choice I made just two and a half years ago, the choice to put down the wine glass, to think for myself, to fight for…

“It was a random day of internet searching that brought me to Boozemusings Blog and to Boom Community, and my life has been changed by it. I needed some kind of “epiphany” for a mind change, and I have learned things about alcohol and its physical effects that have given me that kind of enlightenment. I check in several times a day and it is like meeting with my family. The resources here are incredible, and inexhaustible. I have quit lit books, etc. Will check out some of the other resources in others’ responses, but for me, Boom has been the answer. I feel it has to do with the tireless work of Boom’s creators. Thank you, Boom!!!!!!!”
