Rapping Down the Drink – An Invitation

Put the “medicine” down
You know it won’t help you
Stuck in your own world
On the sofa now curled

You came in
Forgot to lock your door
Had a swig from the bottle
Lay collapsed on the floor

Dragged yourself up
Tried to get comfy
why won’t someone help me?

I only wanted
a little bit
To soothe me
How did I get
so out of it
Why me?

Is it too late to tell someone
What’s really going on?
It’s getting out of hand now
Want to stop,
don’t know how

All isn’t lost
You can still be the boss
In your life here
I know there’s fear
But don’t disappear
There is help
It could be near

Get online and scroll down
Till a site like Booze Musings you’ve found
It’ll lead you to BOOM
A friendly community
They can help
You’ll see
It’s like having friends in the room

You’re not a lost cause
No one is
If you want to talk to someone
Want to beat this
Try us
You can chat and get advice
With no judgement or fuss
