Don’t Give Up

Woman with tea sticking to sober

I don’t want to want to drink anymore
I’m getting closer to that day for sure
But whenever I think I’m there
Something holds me back
And I’m likely to have a wine attack

I want to Stick to Sober

I want to get to a place of peace
Where alcohol doesn’t tempt me
And I just feel free
Does that place exist really?

I know that I’m not missing out
But I find it hard to resist the shout
The screaming voice
It tolls, the bell
If I’m not wise
It’ll get me aswell

I have one thing in my favour I’m sure
I don’t want to want alcohol anymore
It doesn’t fit with my pattern for success
It would just leave my life in a mess

I want to Stick to Sober

The thing that really does concern me
Is I see all the damage and still want it really

I’m fairly wise to it’s disguise
But I could still succumb to it’s lies
It could still lead to my demise

Self awareness is my amour
I know that now clearly
But it won’t fight my battles for me

I know the rules
I’ve the work to do
So I’m trying to commit to sobriety

Although sometimes it’s not easy
It is what it is
It is what’s true
It’s so worth it I’m told
And the only way out is through

Don’t give up on fighting for you
You might only have a bit more to think through
Before something clicks
And sobriety sticks
Invest in you
You’re so worth it too! ❤ You will see if you Stick to Sober
