You’re allowed to smile and enjoy your day
It builds resilience too they say
If you can remain calm
And master your emotions

The world is sometimes toxic enough
I’m going to try and fill mine with more love
If we focus on the tragedy, horror and evil in the world too much
We’ll forget there is also goodness, love and heroism too.
I know we’re supposed to be selfless but I’m putting my oxygen mask on first

I mean we give so much to everyone

I want to feel refreshed and reborn
Not stuck to the booze that makes me sad and forlorn
