Read more: 10 Things I’ve Learned in 100 Days SoberIn the future, when I think of 2020, I will think of the weeks I spent alone in a ski resort town. I don’t think I can accurately write about that time because not enough time has passed, but it was August, and I’d been sober for maybe two weeks. There in the mountains I…

It’s Ok to Not be Ok – Breaking the Bond of Mommy’s Wine Time
Read more: It’s Ok to Not be Ok – Breaking the Bond of Mommy’s Wine TimeI’m so proud of myself for being sober this Christmas season because last year I was a mess. A hiding my bottles in my shoes mess. I sunk into a Mommy’s Wine Time routine as an accepted adult comfort, but drinking became the problem, not the solution. My husband is in the military so he…

The Opposite of Addiction is Connection
Read more: The Opposite of Addiction is ConnectionI used to think that my drinking habits were a sign of weakness, of a flawed character. I used to think that when I chose a sober weekend, I was punishing myself – like a kid in time out because I didn’t follow the rules. I quit drinking alcohol for one year, between 2014 and…

Why I Chose Sobriety – The Magic of my First Sober Christmas

“It was a random day of internet searching that brought me to Boozemusings Blog and to Boom Community, and my life has been changed by it. I needed some kind of “epiphany” for a mind change, and I have learned things about alcohol and its physical effects that have given me that kind of enlightenment. I check in several times a day and it is like meeting with my family. The resources here are incredible, and inexhaustible. I have quit lit books, etc. Will check out some of the other resources in others’ responses, but for me, Boom has been the answer. I feel it has to do with the tireless work of Boom’s creators. Thank you, Boom!!!!!!!”
