Surrender and Empower – Emotional Sobriety
Read more: Surrender and Empower – Emotional SobrietyI’ve been thinking a lot about control; what it means in relation to my mental health, my behaviors and my drinking. In the past, whenever life felt “out of control” for me, I chose to drink. The anxiety, frustration and fear that bubbled up inside of me when I didn’t have control over things, made…

Finding the Courage to be Vulnerable
Read more: Finding the Courage to be VulnerableI drank to make myself invulnerable. At least I thought that alcohol would make me invulnerable. Each time I opened a bottle it was my intent to build a barrier between myself and stress, sorrow, loneliness, even the mundane blah that is sometimes day to day life. But the effect of alcohol was actually the…

“It was a random day of internet searching that brought me to Boozemusings Blog and to Boom Community, and my life has been changed by it. I needed some kind of “epiphany” for a mind change, and I have learned things about alcohol and its physical effects that have given me that kind of enlightenment. I check in several times a day and it is like meeting with my family. The resources here are incredible, and inexhaustible. I have quit lit books, etc. Will check out some of the other resources in others’ responses, but for me, Boom has been the answer. I feel it has to do with the tireless work of Boom’s creators. Thank you, Boom!!!!!!!”
