There are many websites and apps that offer coaching and community support to stop drinking alcohol in a style that is very different from the AA 12 step tradition. The BOOM Rethink the Drink community is based on interacting in a blog-style format. We are glad that you have found us here at BOOM and hope that you will find the solutions that you’re looking for here.
Everyone who joins our community is here to either cut back on their drinking or stop altogether. We’re here to tackle the challenge of living dry, or mostly dry, in a very wet world. In other words, we are here to redefine who we are and how we live on our own terms.
We offer a private community website at www.boomrethinkthedrink.com, an app ( Download the Mighty Networks app and search Boom Rethink the Drink Community), and a public blog, Boozemusings, that is an archive of many of our stories, experience, tips, and tools. This post is from that blog, Boozemusings, and it will serve as a resource with answers to frequently asked questions to help you get started in using BOOM.
While you are in the BOOM Rethink the Drink community, which is completely private and we encourage you to make it more so by setting up an anonymous profile, you will often see posts like this one pop up from our public blog. But first, before reading anything else, you may want to start getting to know our community and how we work together to support each other.

Our setup in BOOM is similar to Facebook in that we have a home feed where all of the posts for the day show up. You can start posting right away on that home feed, ask the community a question, or start reading and commenting on the posts that you see. Please feel comfortable asking any questions you may have on the home feed https://boom-rethink-the-drink.mn.co/feed. Remember we are private and you are anonymous here.
You can write as much or as little as you’d like in your posts. Start by telling us why you’re here. What do you hope to achieve? The more you share the more you’ll learn about yourself and the more we’ll be able to offer support and ideas. We’re a real give-and-take community. If you spend some time here daily reading and writing you will find that you begin to figure out what you need to do and how to do it
