A Book Club About Much More Than Quit Lit

Everyone who joins our community is here to either cut back on their drinking or stop altogether. We’re here to tackle the challenge of living dry, or mostly dry, in a very wet world. In other words, we are here to redefine who we are and how we live on our own terms.

We offer a private community website at www.boomrethinkthedrink.com, an app, and a public blog, Boozemusings, that is an archive of many of our stories, experience, tips, and tools. This post is from that blog and will serve as a resource with answers to frequently asked questions about getting started in using BOOM.

How to Find Your Way Around BOOM

While you are in the BOOM Rethink the Drink community, which is completely private and we encourage you to make it more so by setting up an anonymous profile, you will often see articles like this one pop up from our public blog. This explains in detail how to tell the difference between the two Understanding the Difference Between Boom and Boozemusings.

But first, before reading anything else, you may want to start getting to know our community and how we work together to support each other.

Our setup in BOOM is similar to Facebook in that we have a home feed where all of the posts for the day show up – All Activity. You can read and comment there or start sharing your own posts in our – Boom Community Posting SpaceModerate Drinking Group or Outside of the Bottle . Please feel comfortable asking any questions you may have either in a post to the community or here by private message – Administration Private Message Box. Remember we are private and you are anonymous here.  

You can write as much or as little as you’d like in your posts. Start by telling us why you’re here. What do you hope to achieve?  The more you share the more you’ll learn about yourself and the more we’ll be able to offer support and ideas. We’re a real give-and-take community. If you spend some time here daily reading and writing you will find that you begin to figure out what you need to do and how to do it
