An emoji-explosion reminder to myself of how alcohol lies to me

Alcohol fuels the fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Fans the flames of belligerence
Or indifference
Makes them go higher 🚒

It doesn’t matter
All that happens for me
is selfish entitled chatter 💬💬💬💤
What happened to the evening
The planned cosy natter?

Nearly a bottle in
and I’m starting to sound
a bit funny 🤪
Like the Mad Hatter 😜🎩
The outlook then isn’t sunny ⛈⚡🌩

“Why are you in such a hurry
to leave?” I say
“I’m trying to tell you
What was it again?❓⁉️😕

“Anyway
As I was trying to say
Doesn’t anyone care how I feel?😭😢
I mean what’s the deal?!!!??? 😠😡🤬”

Yes my husband patiently replies 😌😒
but those feelings aren’t real
I mean you do know don’t you
That alcohol lies? 🤥

As I put down my glass
when I’ve drained my drink
I will start to wearily think 🤔
What happened to the relaxing night?
This could end up in a shouty fight 🥊
Over who’s wrong and who’s right
And I’ll wish I’d stayed sober
This October 😇😏🎃
Not to mention the
hellish hangover🤕🤢🤮
