Alcohol and Exercise-Battling Diminishing Returns
Read more: Alcohol and Exercise-Battling Diminishing ReturnsCan exercise cancel out the deadly effect of too much alcohol? The messaging about alcohol, excersize, weight loss and health has been confusing at best over the past 20 years. I’ve read that a glass of red wine is worth an hour at the gym and many other fantastic statements in articles online. When I…

Sobriety is my Path from Fear to Authenticity
Read more: Sobriety is my Path from Fear to AuthenticityToday it’s over 11 months since I had a drop of alcohol. I now associate drinking with fear. Fear of alcohol. The 3 Phases of Addiction – MAGIC, MEDICINE and MISERY
Read more: The 3 Phases of Addiction – MAGIC, MEDICINE and MISERYI was listening to the Heart of the Matter, a podcast on addiction and recovery hosted by Elizabeth Vargas, and she said someone in recovery described alcohol to her as first magic, then medicine, then misery. Ouch. That hits close to home. Those were the 3 phases of my addiction. I think I stopped drinking…

“It was a random day of internet searching that brought me to Boozemusings Blog and to Boom Community, and my life has been changed by it. I needed some kind of “epiphany” for a mind change, and I have learned things about alcohol and its physical effects that have given me that kind of enlightenment. I check in several times a day and it is like meeting with my family. The resources here are incredible, and inexhaustible. I have quit lit books, etc. Will check out some of the other resources in others’ responses, but for me, Boom has been the answer. I feel it has to do with the tireless work of Boom’s creators. Thank you, Boom!!!!!!!”
