To my mind as a child, the alcohol made the party. The drinking was…

A Love Letter to My Liver From a Newly Sober Me
Read more: A Love Letter to My Liver From a Newly Sober MeDear Liver, I am so sorry I have tortured you. You have always been there for me. You’ve cleaned my blood, detoxified my body and regulated my hormones for many years. What thanks did you get? None. My Long Journey to Sobriety and the Three D’s I Learned in Alcohol Rehab
Read more: My Long Journey to Sobriety and the Three D’s I Learned in Alcohol RehabI used to get irritated by the word journey in relation to stopping drinking: it sounded trite to me as I felt it was overused. I Wish it Was Easier to Say “I Can’t Drink”
Read more: I Wish it Was Easier to Say “I Can’t Drink”Am I an Alcoholic? The words alcoholic and teetotaler both make me cringe. My favorite term for myself is Alcohol Free. AF! “It was a random day of internet searching that brought me to Boozemusings Blog and to Boom Community, and my life has been changed by it. I needed some kind of “epiphany” for a mind change, and I have learned things about alcohol and its physical effects that have given me that kind of enlightenment. I check in several times a day and it is like meeting with my family. The resources here are incredible, and inexhaustible. I have quit lit books, etc. Will check out some of the other resources in others’ responses, but for me, Boom has been the answer. I feel it has to do with the tireless work of Boom’s creators. Thank you, Boom!!!!!!!”
