Happy Fourth of July !
Read more: Happy Fourth of July !Just a few days away now from 3.5 years alcohol free. A great big empowering freedom. It’s maybe more than a little ironic that I used to regard freedom as the freedom to do what I wanted, and want I wanted to do was get ‘buzzed’ as often as I could. About 20 years ago,…

Celebrate Life this 4th of July
Read more: Celebrate Life this 4th of JulyHoliday weekends are always prime time for traffic fatalities caused by drunk driving and in the United States, July is the deadliest month. That Voice
Read more: That VoiceIn the last few months of my long and illustrious drinking career, there was a voice that began to whisper melodically to me. I heard it’s song nightly near the end of the second bottle of wine. The voice was darkly magical, very seductive and beautiful, and I was luckily still present enough to find…

What is the Drawback of Taking a Break from the Booze?
Read more: What is the Drawback of Taking a Break from the Booze? This time last year, when I posted an invitation in The FIX for Dry July, I got a bit of criticism in the comments that was worth thinking through. Keep your focus on staying the course.” My mind immediately went to all the stories and personalities I have encountered in the podcast world, where I spend at least an hour a day if not…

“It was a random day of internet searching that brought me to Boozemusings Blog and to Boom Community, and my life has been changed by it. I needed some kind of “epiphany” for a mind change, and I have learned things about alcohol and its physical effects that have given me that kind of enlightenment. I check in several times a day and it is like meeting with my family. The resources here are incredible, and inexhaustible. I have quit lit books, etc. Will check out some of the other resources in others’ responses, but for me, Boom has been the answer. I feel it has to do with the tireless work of Boom’s creators. Thank you, Boom!!!!!!!”
